Happy Cuban Woman ALL ISLAND VISITORS are required to have an official Cuban medical insurance policy in place prior to arrival.

Every Cuba Education Tours program includes, as a matter of safety, security and courtesy, ASISTUR medical coverage for our travelers.

ASISTUR medical coverage is limited to the dates of travel on your Cuba Education Tour. If you plan to arrive early before your tour commences, or remain longer in Cuba following your tour's departure date, extended coverage can be easily arranged for an additional nominal fee.

ASISTUR organizes medical and healthcare services and support across the island for travelers when in need. Emergency response is available 24 hours a day. ASISTUR coordinates services with many major medical and insurance companies globally and some in the United States.

Cuba Education Tours provides ASISTUR coverage for its travelers as part of the tour package. It does not receive a commission or markup the price of ASISTUR insurance costs for our island guests.

ASISTUR insurance covers the following medical services and procedures while in Cuba up to 25,000 Cuban Convertible Pesos (1.00 CUC equals 1.00 US dollar). The cost of medical services in Cuba is about one-tenth of equivalent services in the United States, so this coverage goes a long ways:
Medical care in hospital, clinic or home.
Monitoring and attending to the patient's condition.
Obtaining and issuing medical reports.
Coordination of wheelchairs and medication.
Coordination of air and land ambulance services.
